I love and adore my husband. I know my husband loves me and would even say I am great. However, he is a much better husband than I am a wife. I do pretty good at keeping up with our kids’ studies, encouraging reading, making sure they get a good nights rest, are kind and loving towards one another, are taught the Gospel and are happy. Our children are important to me and I work hard to help them be successful.
Try as I might, or don’t, I have never been an organized housewife. I live in flux of things that need to be done NOW. Organization falls on the things that have pushed their way to urgent. My house get’s clean when we are expecting visitors, laundry gets washed but rarely folded, dishes pile up but are regularly done(my husband is awesome), piles of papers have overtaken areas in the house and claimed many a laundry basket in an effort to de-clutter, and deep cleaning is left only for home appraisals and mother-in-laws (I love you Janet, I just want things to be clean for you!).
You wouldn’t guess it, but I secretly love a clean house. I’d love a clean house even more if I didn’t have to clean it. I focus a ton of energy on the thought of how to get a clean house, can we cut out cable so I can hire someone? Could I live without my cell phone just to afford someone? All joking aside, I do think about it often and my close friends would say I talk about/apologize about it a lot. I have tried to accept my short-comings and take a relaxed view on it. I say “Who wants to be stressed over cleaning?” But in reality when it comes right down to it. I end up stressing more about how to get things cleaned last minute then I would if general cleaning was kept up on. My kids would say I make them clean all the time, yet the house is still consistently messy, interesting.
So here is the problem, I don’t enjoy cleaning and I am very unorganized. Here is my solution… YOU that’s right! At my fingertips I could have access to potentially millions of people and ideas! All you wonderfully organized people, I know you are out there, that are just chomping at the bit to help a poor unorganized distressed soul as myself! Each month I will post a cleaning roadblock or pictures of an organizational nightmare and I will ask for ideas and input. This will be YOUR chance to tell everyone your perfected methods! I will pick the one that fits me the best and DO IT for the entire month. I will write about it and post pictures to SHOW my progress.
